From what I see on Wikipedia it is possible to write and run native C applications underneath Android.

So, it should be possible to port my Maemo ported apps to Android, once I remove all hildonization and GTK+ and SDL dependencies and replace them with Skia calls.
Could anyone familiar with Android programming confirm that?

Or maybe there is an SDL port for Android already? That would make it even easier.

What do I need Maemo for if native applications are possible on Android?

I'd be the last person to stop you from converting, but, I'd say you're making a bit of an odd choice tbh.

If it works for you though... Go for it.

@smoku Judas! I'm kidding...

I think that Maemo is better (IMO!) but would be even better if it had Androids slide out menu! That is one thing about Android that I love!
