Hi all, I have a question that I've no where to ask. I hope this is the right place. (It was disheartening to find that at the Nokia forum there wasn't even a place for N9).

I have acquired a 16G N9 first (Nokia RM-696 board, Revision 1603), and was learning its ways. I liked it and wanted to get a 64 G (Nokia RM696 board, Revision 1601) one for myself. Aside from other difference in what came with the device, a noticeable difference is in the physical camera lens itself. I'm posting the picture in hopes of finding some answers here. I'm curious to find out if it's a change in Nokia's production, or if one of the unit is a fake....Thanks for your input in advance!

(Oh yay! Thanks both of you! Indeed, the one on the left is the 64G and the right, 16G. so, it is indeed a difference in design perhaps.)

edit: uh oh, I misread Lorenzo's direction. So, then, the left one is what you both have. hmmm.

another question: does the 64G's black display appears a bit dark purple (eggplant) instead of black, like on the 16G?

I don't think anyone is interested in producing such a high-quality fake Nokia N9. If another company manages to produce such a masterpiece again they will brand it with their name Btw I hope that Jolla will soon reveal such device

Nokia Lumia 800 is very similar as hardware to N9 so they might be using a similar pipeline and same hardware components. I guess that Nokia might have made some minor improvements to the hardware during the manufacturing process and that can explain the minor differences on your newer device.

the two flash LEDs are clearly visible, fairly close to the "surface"

my 16GB looks like the left one, blue-ish shine in the lens, and hardly visible flashleds.
edit: cat /proc/cpuinfo tells me its a RM696, revision 1603.
hope it helps

mine is like the one on the left with blue-ish lens (if you look closely, it has two black layers before the lens) and two visible flashleds, it is 16G black and definitely original N9
