I am trying to follow this link to complete flash of my nokia n900. Some reason latest N900 firmware update to the phone disabled my ringer in my phone. Ringer wasn't working when someone calls me. But vibrating fine. Beeps for SMS. But no ringing sound when someone calls me. So I decided to flash it with FIASCO aka *COMBINED*, flashing process worked on Windows XP 32-bit but didn't fix the ringer problem. So Now I need to go back to factory default with eMMC aka *VANILLA*. After going through the steps below:

http://wiki.maemo.org/Updating_the_t...MC_in_the_N900

I get USB device is found and then goes on to say suitable device is not found. What is this mean? Am I holding 'u' key too long or some other issue? Please help. (Windows XP 32-bit and Flasher-3.5)

C:\Program Files\maemo\flasher-3.5>

It is 32bit, not 64bit. Any other way to fix my phone and get it to work?

I also have Windows 7 64bit and Mac OS X 10.6. Is there any way to fix this phone on Windows 7 64bit or Mac OS X 10.6 if I can't do this on Windows XP 32 bit machine?

Windows 7 64bit:

I have downloaded flasher 3.5
I have downloaded libusb-win32-bin-1.2.2.0.zip

Now pressing U while N900 is being to attached the USB.

Wait for the original driver to install <- step is failing.
Anyway I went to next step, running inf-wizard.exe.

I select the item with the following properties:

Vendor ID 0x0421
Product ID 0x01C7
Manufacturer Name: Nokia Mobile Phones
Device Name: N900 (Storage Mode)

Ran the flasher 3.5. But no success:

C:\Program Files (x86)\maemo\flasher-3.5>flasher-3.5.exe -F RX-51_2009SE_10.2010
.13-2.VANILLA_PR_EMMC_MR0_ARM.bin -f
flasher v2.5.2 (Sep 24 2009)

Image 'mmc', size 255947 kB
Version RX-51_2009SE_10.2010.13-2.VANILLA
USB device found found at bus bus-0, device address \\.\libusb0-0001--0x0421-0x0
105.
Sending request 0x04 failed: No error
Unable to read device info

C:\Program Files (x86)\maemo\flasher-3.5>
How can I fix this driver install issue:

Wait for the original driver to install <- step is failing.
Soon as I plug in the N900 driver is not getting installed. It is failing.

Looking for help. Thanks.

I have no idea I've faced a few problems with 64 bit linux and win machines but it worked fine uinder 32 bit.. If this is a desktop try the USB ports on the back.
