Hi all.

I just ported gargoyle (http://ccxvii.net/gargoyle/), a very cool player for interactive fiction. (i.e. text adventure games.)

Gargoyle supports every IF game format under the sun and has really nice typography.

Tested on the N900.

You can get it at extras-devel. (See http://maemo.org/packages/view/gargoyle/ for a .deb file.)

Keywords for google: infocom z-machine, glulx, tads, zork.

Thanks for that. I've not come across Gargoyle before, but the screenshots look good.

By the way, you can add these kinds of things to the "tags" at the bottom of the page.

uh, but its not running

Nokia-N900-42-11:/media/mmc1/dl# gargoyle /media/mmc1/stuff/z-code/anchor.z8
-sh: gargoyle: not found

same output with and without the gamefile behind.

That is a strange error message.

Could you please run this command:

Code:
ls -lt /usr/bin/gargoyle /opt/gargoyle/gargoyle
and show me the output? I will try to fix it ASAP. Thanks.

Actually, I think I see the problem.
The current package depends on /bin/bash. Will fix it tomorrow, sorry about that.

Cyrillic should work out of the box, if it works at all.

What file are you trying to play?
