Ok, it showed up. You didn't recently change anything in your profile here, did you? Like email address?

The childish sniping in this thread is truly sad to see.

But I guess bad-mouthing someone from here is easier than offering constructive criticism at the source.

Yeah. This is productive.

As long as he's willing to make corrections and he researches his posts before publishing them, I'm more than happy to have him covering Maemo.

I think he's off-base on the microb comment. Yes, it was somewhat slow on the older tablets and that's a perfectly fine criticism, but a lot of the apps for Fremantle are probably the same apps but running with the new UI, new optimizations, new features... so I think that the device is going to run more than fast enough that most of the complaning about microb's speed is going to go away. At least, that's my hope.

I bet that if he gets an N900 - review or otherwise - he'll have a full camo theme made within a week.

I wish they all could come over here instead of creating a new sub forum. If anyone can invite them it would be great.

Talk is the cool thing for users, and brainstorm should also be an obvious enty point for potential contributors.

- Widening Planet Maemo? Pushing tmo threads to News? The top news in the home are still too developer oriented most of the times. Maybe increasing the blogs aggregated with good writers more user-oriented would help. Also, should we pay any attention to all this microblogging thing? Still, bloggers could use a maemo-devel tag that could be aggregated in the Development section.

Just ideas. More?
Thanks for not forgetting about this change in focus of the website that was discussed many months ago as occuring upon launch of m.n.c. After hearing that maemo.org is a community, I have always thought that the community web page

http://maemo.org/community/

is a better entry point than the existing home page (except that the recent posts in the lower right are from the developers mailing list rather than the users mailing list ). It has links to Brainstorn and the Wiki, etc. What do you think? That should be easy to do.

In addition, I think that the new home page should give special attention and prominently support the community of Diablo era users (such as by space for Mer and/or any community sponsored SSU updates) since support will not be provided by Nokia or by any other website or organization.

Great points SD69.

We're faced with a muddled legacy here: a Nokia spinoff site merged with a community that formed ad hoc around one guy's forum. I see another 3 to 6 months of that shaking out until this gels decently.
