oooooh....
then you really won't like the statistical odds...
Odds aren't that you will be hit by a bus before getting your hands on a new device...
Due to the amount of time per day spent domestically doing things that are a daily given...
The odds are greater that you will die:
- on the toilet
- naked (in a very unflattering heap) in the shower (mind you it would be far more disturbing to be found dead fully clothed in the shower..)
- from tripping down stairs.
- from falling from alternately standing on one foot and ungainly balancing or hopping on the spot while putting on or taking off ones pants or stockings (for women that is...or for men if that is your thing too...) at night and / or in the morning.
- choking on either your breakfast lunch or dinner...even a snack.
- from aspiration ..(drowning).. in your tea cup.

Or any of a countless number of common domestic possibles that are done with regularity and consume many minutes each ...daily ...

You are more likely to die from any of the above than hit by a bus...
the running or stepping into the path of a bus consumes perhaps a few seconds out of a day compared to the plus or minus 20 min in a shower daily, the amount of time on the toilet daily or any of the other common seemingly mundane and benign daily duties and functions..

Since an ignoble and boring death is hardly a way to be remembered...and soon one is forgotten...

I aim to be as memorable as possible and a good story if not folk legend ... as witnessed by the attending police, paramedics, coroners ...etc...
(I know and deal with them all on a daily work basis and we share some unique and odd stats and interesting "death by..." stories and witnessed incidents...some may call it bleak or morbid or macabre humour...but frankly it is humanizing...and finding humour even in death...is always a victory over what many succumb in life to ...as despair...)

On the ocassion of finding my derelict shucked shell.
I intend on trying my best to fulfill as many of the common domestic possible "death by..." criteria as possible...
By dying from choking on a crumpet whilst trying to wash it down and drowning on shower water I gargled (naturally I have to be in the shower at the time to gargle shower water..) whilst slipping from the shower with one leg in my nylons...er...I mean my pants...to land in a completely undignified heap ..breaking my neck on the bottom of the toilet... with my sorry @ss in the air and legs splayed looking in all totality like a very sad potted petunia.

There you sold it. I am definitely ready to stop showering until the F(x)tec Pro1 is released, just to make sure I survive long enough to try it out.

hahaha...
made me choke on my coffee...there..
Yup ...be careful doing the mundane...

I hang out with enough work peers and I've seen enough stats to know a bloke has got to be REEEEELY careful doing what everyone else thinks is pointless or silly to focus on.
THAT is how to live to a ripe old age... and see a few new devices come to market.

Forget about the buses...
they aren't any more likely to kill you than an A.C.M.E. anvil falling from the sky and hitting you on the head.
Its the bagel you covet, the piece of upturned carpet on the stair you ignore 2 or 3 or 10 times a day...
its the fishnet stocking you carelessly and hazardously you put on and take off in the morning and night ..
that you have to watch for.

It will be a standard warranty period as anyone else. At least for 12 months but I want to make that 24 months. There will be detailed warranty policy posted before official sales begins. (i.e complete the pre-order)

We will fully comply with EU policy with return and warranty policy.

A very nice and detailed in dept view of the pre production device!
I'm assuming they're still working hard on software? Every device I've seen so far has a horrible lag when going from landscape to vertical orientation. Wish they would provide a mid development update. I think I read the device is slimmer with the new keyboard and screen?
Thanks for sharing, it was a great read

24 month warranty would be epic and frankly unheard of in the current market. Even the big players only offer 12 months. Major improvement

Maybe in the land of Oz i mean, "the free"
Over here we've had a 24 months' warranty for years. Just one of the things the evil EU imposed on us downtrodden Brits
