Unfortunately, it's not something Nokia has a choice over. You'll have to bug Adobe for that, as Flash doesn't recognize Linux webcams period.

Yep.. I've been looking for something (anything!) to let me do a video conversation from n800 to PC.

I'd pretty much given up on the Flash angle (especially now that I've read Zerojay's comment.)

I'd LOVE to see some way to do it. I don't care if it's Gizmo, some Nokia app, GTalk, etc. Personally I think it *would* be a real defining feature that would seperate the n800 from the competition.

But at this point Gizmo seems to have put things on hold with no further comments. (although they released a PC beta with video support). So I just check back on their site every couple days and hit this bugzilla thread where Nokia "promised" to post information on a solution when available:

The latest windows client is here: http://download.gizmoproject.com/jas...-4-0-0-310.exe, however for me only version 4-0-0-306 works with video from the N800, which you can download here: http://public.www.planetmirror.com/p...-4-0-0-306.exe.

You should also check http://download.gizmoproject.com/jasmine/ for any new releases.

Can someone with OS2008 test if the video chat works with the new gizmo client?

Sorry, this is a bit late, but I've just tested this on my Nokia N800 with OS2008

Call was made from N800 to PC. PC video came over fine, but the video stream from the N800 came up pretty pixelated, even over my local WiFi network. This was tested with desktop PC and N800 using the same access point in the same room.

It works, but the video needs a bit of tweaking. I can test this with the N800 connected via HSDPA to my mobile network if anyone's keen to know how the video is going to turn up over the mobile data network.
