I just hope his battery is charged enough lol or he wont be able to complete but no worries even if it does go wrong you cannot do any permanent damage in any way to your device ok.

oh yeah very late lol.
anyhow hope you can stay awake long enough cos i don't use linux so not going to be able to advise him.

The instructions for Mint and Ubuntu are identical. Welcome to Linux! It's the best and easiest way to flash. All you need is to get the flasher program and the image into the same directory, then run the command from that directory. The command ls shows what is in the directory.

Usually flashing only takes a couple minutes.

A full PR1.2+eMMC flash took under 5 minutes for me.

I guess about 100 mAH is ehough?

It was a no go. I think the battey is dead and not charging this time. All I get is the Nokia logo and orange light, no USB icon. Any suggestions?

Okay, I just plugged it into the wall charger for a few minutes and then the computer to see if the USB icon appears and it does. I'm going to leave it in the wall for awhile and report back. Lets hope that works. Thanks all for you help.
