For me, this doesn't work on youtube videos that are embedded in facebook. Ok when direct on facebook. Anyone else seeing that?

The deb install file will move the old libflashplayer.so to libflashplayer.so.diverted. This file (/usr/lib/browser/plugins/libflashplayer.so.diverted) can be removed (or stored as backup somewhere else).

H/W accell was removed on the Linux Flash 11 for whatever reason. As such, I'm using an old Flash 10.4 installer on my Ubuntu 12.04 box which I then hex-edited the installed lib and changed the revision to v12. With this, Flash reports v12 to Facebook and - golly gosh - the videos play okay and I also benefit from H/W accell (your mileage may vary, I'm using an ATI card, NVidia is flaky as fook on Linux + Flash).

So - the point to all this chat - if you hex-edit the Flash10 lib and change the version to 12 then I suspect you'll then be able to view Youtube videos.

I have done this successfuly previously (0x005b61fc in libflashplayer.so to 31 31 2E 32 20 72 32 30 32
(11.2 r 232).

was 31 30 2E 31 20 72 36 31 (00)
So, if I want to edit to v12, does it have to be V12, release {something}? for example? 12.1 r 14
What did you do?

Well, I changed the version for my Linux box to v12 by increasing the major version and leaving the revision ; just so I wouldn't have to keep doing it (Adobe will no longer product a version of Flash that uses the GPU in Linux).

You can change the N900 version to whatever you like (11, 12, 13, 99) - given a new version will never be produced

Did you change it by tweak flash plugin? It seems it does not recognize version number properly...
What about hardware acceleration? Do you notice performance increase on N900, setting version 12.xx ?
