It's definitely faster than 1.0, but still nowhere near microb.

Mozilla improved zooming a lot. Now it's a please when you double click on a web site and that portion becomes instantly well visible. And hardware keys to zoom in/out also work much better!

There is no way this is faster than the built-in browser. It is better than it used to be, a definite improvement, but nowhere near the goodness of the microB browser.

Good Work Mozilla.

Thanks for this, guys at Mozilla. I think it is incredible and while not as fast as Microb, on my 900MHz N900 it's fast enough. I am very close to making this my main browser on the N900... I'll have to test it out a bit more.

The history feature alone is such a joke in Microb, that I'd be happy to switch if the speed is up to scratch...

What is wrong with you guys?

This version is out for a while. Unfortunately this is v1.1 RC1 (beta).

Check http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/mobile/maemo/

This link for the latest version: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/m/ download the version 1.0.1.

You can check in your /home/opt/var/lib/apt/lists opening the moff.mozilla.com_latest_maemo_multi_dists_chinook_ release_binary-armel_Packages file:

Package: fennec
Priority: extra
Section: user/network
Installed-Size: 6312
Maintainer: Mobile Feedback <mobile-feedback@mozilla.com>
Architecture: armel
Version: 1.0.1
...

The final 1.1 is not final!

Yes it is. Setup a 'Mozilla Catalog' in the app manager as follows and you'll get Firefox 1.1 final (works in the US anyway):

Catalog name: Mozilla Catalog
Web address: http://moff.mozilla.com/maemo/multi
Distribution: chinook
Components: release

1. Type 'about:config' in the address bar.
2. Type 'plugin' In the search bar on top.
3. You should see some options popup.
4. Need to change these 2 (scroll down a bit):
plugin.default_plugin_disabled
and
plugin.disable
5. Tap on each one (or use the arrow keys) and hit enter. This will change the value from true to false.
6. Close Firefox and restart.

The only application enabled when I install this catalogue was:

Mozilla Runtime 1.9.2.1 + rc2 ... 28,6MB...

Where is Firefox 1.1...?

That does not enable flash for all sites. You must enable flash manually. I just posted how.
