Wow, two questions:
does it manage the battery?
could it work on an n800?

Hm. Once again I collided with my good'old n810. The screen has been broken for over two years... but today I flashed and booted it.

This device has no replacement!

**** netbooks and smartphones. I'll get another n810 ASAP.

Some of us are working on a different approach to MeeGo where we re-use the Mer name and port it to everywhere, non-Atom, ARMv6, ARMv7 softfp/hardfp, etc., with emphasis on a small core for building household interactive items
Someone has told me that the kernel from openwrt is able to charge the battery.

Do you know if this is true, and what are the limitations compared to the Nokia closed source binary?

Video shows: MeeGo-derived core called Mer, built for ARMv6+VFP running on Nokia N810 with 2.6.38 kernel (from OpenWRT project). Boots into QMLviewer

Any lag in screen can be prescribed to the Xorg driver not doing manual OMAP display updates and may in fact be faster than it looks like.
That's absolutely cracking.....

Also got to say that it is really cool to see this resurgence of interest in the N800 and N810 devices.

From the look of it, it seems that's only for the n810:

Wow, if that's true, that means we could be able to write a bme replacement!

I've been checking this page for the last 5 days.
https://github.com/scummvm/scummvm/pull/78

Any guess as to when this will be packaged as a .deb?
