I would guess to accomodate digital cameras, which is a popular use case for full size SD. It is just a guess.

Or following Google's response for the lack of micro sd in nexus 4 they would say they expect their laptop users to be smart enough to discern between internal and external storage

Despite mostly mediocre press, it seems that the public has spoken, and the nexus 4 is in very high demand. The price is just too good to ignore. I was going to buy one but missed the opportunity. I just hope they get sooner more in stock soon!

Are there any rumors of a HWKB variant yet?

So you just want the rumours, not the product :P

Android 4.2 source code is out.
I don't think there's much difference between 4.0.3 and 4.1.2 however the leap to 4.2.0 from 4.0.3 with the new first-party Apps seems significant.

No, and I wouldn't hold my breath for one either.

Excellent price, shame about the no micro-sd card and even worse only 8gb or 16gb not even 32gb!

I'm still puzzled about the outrage about the internal storage.
The first iPod had 5GB, and that was enough for most users. You can store at least 50 albums on that much space. And don't tell me you watch feature movies on your phone.
