hi,

this is just a suggestion about something I have pondered for a while.

problem:

people are complaining that some threads are massive and unreadable to most common users.
some threads grow to extremely large proportions where no regular user would ever read them.

suggested solution:

have a method to view threads ONLY showing posts with thanks.

filtering the threads down to show these would be a quick/practical method of reducing the scrolling and uselessness.
it would be beneficial to have this as a default for anonymous/not logged in users, since then new people exploring the forum will get only the information that we feel is worthy.
i know it can be gamed a bit, but I'm more interested in just seeing how it would work and should require very little modification.

what do you think?

What about This Brainstorm by Texrat and Solution #11 or add your suggestion to Solution #08?

Helmuth,

i didn't know that existed

and my suggestion could probably be implemented in a short time with no real drastic changes to the database etc.
the data exists, we already know which threads the community thinks are more worthy than others.
