@Mitrigol the idea with the 'new' ofono is that you should not need to apply the dbus command after reboot, but just set mode to "Prefer 3G" which then should make it want 3G only.

Here is a new build, which sets to "PREF_NET_TYPE_WCDMA" and all the old settings (2G/LTE) are kept as was originally.

Now, which package is responsible for the UI ?

would be nice to add more settings, and enable more choice in the UI

i found /usr/share/jolla-settings/entries/network.json which seems to be related to the mobile network settings.

Still investigating

And it may take a while as i absolutely do not know where to start to search and found this by luck, scrolling through folders.

I think i found it!

/usr/share/jolla-settings/pages/mobilenetworking/mainpage.qml

There is a section where Prefer 4G, Prefer 3G and 2G only are defined.

Will try to modify it and see.

I'll update later.

I'm using ofono2 too, and phone seems to heat up less and battery in idle last whole lotta more even with net on. I haven't had any problems with 3G only as of yet. Happy!

Though there is still battery draining issue after using hotspot. As a workaround i'm always rebooting the phone after using it.

Just tested ofono2 and it worked (thanks nieldk)... But signal strenght was weaker than original? So Jolla lost connection all the time...

Installed original ofono back and no connection problem... hmmm... weird... I will try this again with better time...
