According to user feedback (haven't tried myself yet) USB tethering is currently broken in Sailfish OS 3:

https://together.jolla.com/question/...rking-anymore/

To add some context, USB tethering has been unofficially available since log ago, one would install a package from the official repositories and a "USB tethering" icon would show up when you connect USB cable to you Sailfish OS device.

This apparently no longer works even though some users report solutions based on custom script still work. Also apparently a reasonable amount of people has been using this kinda hidden feature.

My recommended course of action for interested parties is to vote for the TJC issue & add it as a topic to the next community meeting. This would ideally not only result in the feature being fixed but also finally enabled by default.

I haven't messed with the software so is it possible there's something wrong with my device? I only ask because it was in my pocket during a bike crash so the frame is cracked on all sides and there are colour marks on the screen, but other than that it seems to work perfectly. I don't know of any diagnostic tests in Sailfish.
I'm having the same problem, did you work out how to upgrade?

(Sony Xperia X dual-sim)

unmastering packages
remove all patch including patchmanager2-3
disabling all the repos in storeman or warehouse
get updating cache of sf update

Great, sadly I have little idea how you did those things (so I'm guessing I don't need to disable any repos...)

What terminal program did you use?

Managed to update to SF3 using these commands:

devel-su
## type your SSH password here

ssu re 3.0.0.8 ## replace "3.0.0.8" with your target OS version if different
version --dup ## note the 2 dash characters in front of 'dup'!
reboot

@rm250j This method is usuallly okay. However, in my experience, if you use it for an OS *downgrade*, it may brick the phone (in my case, downgrading from 3.0.0.8 to 2.2.0.29 on a Jolla phone).
