Not to my knowledge (break jack).

Since it's not just a channel issue, I don't believe anyone's figured out whether the TRıR²S connections can be remapped TR²RıS by the N900 in firmware for starters- I've looked and certainly seen nothing.

If you're handy with a soldering iron, you could try and get hold of a TRRS jack and a TRRS socket to make a mini extension cable of sorts, and try swapping around connections to see if reversing the rings works.

For what it's worth, for the N900's headset jack, Nokia simply maintained the same pinout they have been using on devices for years, since long before the iPhone existed.

No. You'd need to wire up an external adapter.

And also, is it possible to break the headphone jack cause I put it in anyways?
No.

I hear you. Only of course it doesn't actually work with the Nokia wired remotes that have existed since before the iPhone existed.

Yes, that's certainly disappointing.

Yes. Get a Stereo extension cable. Plug it inbetween the iPhone headset and the N900. That should give you stereo sound only (no mic). But that kind of defeats the object, doesn't it?

You can either make one or find it at any audio store. The problem is that most store-bought extensions will be long, since they're... well, extensions.

Without knowing your country of residence, that's difficult to answer. In the U.S., Radio Shack, Amazon, or Monoprice would do the trick. Walmart or Target might even have what you need.

Elsewhere, I don't know.
