Hello people, I just bought a N900 from newegg, and have been playing with it a lot. Yesterday I installed a app to gain the sudo gainroot account. After installing the app, everything was working fine, I could give the path of the file, and the n900 will try to install it (always got dependencies issues, but that is another problem (to which I know the answer)). Today, I tried to install a app, but got the next message :

Code:
dpkg : 1dconfig' not found on path
dpkg : 1 expected program(s) not found on PATH.

NB : root's PATH should usually contain /usr/local/sbin/ , /usr/sbin/, and /sbin/
Does anyone knows a fix for this, or the cause for this?

Solution : Reinstall the firmware.

Update :

I can not install anything from the app manager to, tells me that "libc-bin(=2.10.2-2)" is missing.

For future reference, do you have any idea what you might have installed that caused the problem? Was it from maemo (extras/extras-devel/extras-testing)? Was it from someplace else?

Hello John, to be honest, I don't know. But I remember uninstalling some applications (facebook, amazon, ap news, other apps...). After doing that, I couldn't install anything.
