Hi

I can see the N900 has Nokia Maps, but does the N900 provide turn by turn directions?

If it is something that you pay a subscription for, is it possible to transfer a Wayfinder map licence on the N810 to the N900's Nokia maps?

And finally is there a planned car suction holder for N900 GPS naviagtion?

Rich

I am hoping that the answers for all of those questions will be 'yes'.

Ovi Maps should provide turn-by-turn navigation same as the Symbian version.

Very doubtful licenses will transfer between Wayfinder and Ovi maps since they are owned by two different companies (Vodafone and Nokia).

Plenty of third party windshield mounts that should fit the bill.

Beware that every source says that there's no voice guidance in the packages we get when eventually we'll buy the device. Only routing, i.e. written and drawn instructions on how to get from point A to point B.
Thereafter, who knows...

So, another step down from the N8x0 then? Android looks more appealing all the time (coPilot is only £26)

Is this really true that there is no turn by turn directions? I thought that the implementation of Nokia Maps was the same as the s60 version where you get navigation for free and routing for a license fee?

It is true, at least at launch.

Not sure what the problem is, my guess would be that the license payment system/license database/etc stuff isn't ready for Maemo yet.

Yes, and I wonder how will it be based. Like Wayfinder, on time/date coming from the GPS chip?
