i got my google voice the other day and i am seriously thinking about this aswell.

If you are able to be grandfathered/lie your way into the not-smart phone data plan, you can spend the same to get unlimited data+300 (500 under project black fliers) anytime minutes + unlimited weekends (+unlimited nights under project black ads). If you are forced into the smart phone data plan +voice, you will pay at least $54.98/mo.
Overall, I value getting to keep my legacy phone number, and the ability to make basic phone calls when I don't have 3g without paying $.20/min. I'm got in for the $54.98/mo option and I figure it's OK, but as always, it's you're call.

Can I get a data-only plan from T-Mobile and use Skype or Google Voice? Both of those work over 3G, correct?
Why would I need to get a voice or SMS plan? Am I missing something?
