i can set a route in mapper, and if i click on the
map i can see the steps in the route...

but so far i can not see a list of the travel directions...i.e. all the steps, on the screen at once.

the best i could do so far is save the route into a file...
if i load the file into a text editor after that, i could
see the directions (but without line feeds after each step)
but this is hardly usable while on the road...
any ideas...also the voice synthesis feature
didnt work for me so far.

Download 'flite' to get voice.

You don't get printed directions, AFAIK. The program is designed to use a GPS receiver, and show your position on the route which is dispayed on the map. You get popup turn instructions at the proper time, or you can use flite to get voice turn directions. IME, though, flite isn't useful because the volume is so low the directions can't be heard, even when I'm connected to my car stereo with the volume well up. I haven't found a way to increase the volume of the turn directions. If anybody has a way to do that, please share.
