For free apps just set your device language to English (US)!
(but I am sure this works only for a short time from now on)

For paid apps I do not know, loaded my last paid app in January.
Paid apps are not working anymore, at least paying via phone bill.

But I just downloaded a bunch of utilities

English (UK) works as well ;-)

Btw - alls the scripts are failing on my device with unresolvable dependencies errors :-( e.g. for Twitter ...

An update on the ArchiveTeam project:

The initial pass of the Ovi Store for downloading free content finished with 194 GB of download files and web pages. (65 GB is duplicate from a requeue.) The data is currently on a staging server and will be uploaded later. It only contains the download file for the default device provided by the website. Also, region restricted content was not checked for successful download.

A second pass to grab all different device versions might be planned, but it is not guaranteed. Also, content for purchase cannot be saved unless they can be easily accessed publicly.

Notes on your collection:

If you have content from the Ovi Store, you may want to upload it to https://archive.org/. Sign up is free and anyone can upload.

Search archive.org and see if anyone has uploaded it already. If not, click the upload button and fill out the form. It should detect it as software type (select software type if it is wrong). Fill in the title and description of the app from the Ovi Store description. Include the device name and whether it is free or not. Also, include some keywords to help make searching easier.

I went to store.ovi.com, which redirected to the opera crapstore. You can actually select the N900 as handset, but still you only get java-fart-apps.

Well, fvck ovi.

I wonder if Ovi Store was useful to N900 anyway? I mean I don't have any app from the Store. Did it have any decent apps.
