Hi everybody,

I have recently bought an "Electronic Book" called EB60. It is made by Vigorhood, a chinese company. It works with a modified version of Maemo 2008, which for example does not have adobe flash. I can't either download packages from maemo or others deposits.
That's why I would like to "flash" it : remove the OS and install real Maemo instead, or at least allow installing packages. I did not find anything about it on the internet, and I can't even see the OS when I connect the device to my computer. With usb, I can just access a part of the memory where I can save movies, books, picture... But with the web browser of the tablet, I can actually see all the different repertories of the OS, but I can't modify anything...
Any idea ??
Thanks,

Julian

Are you able to use a terminal?
Are you able to gain root or enable R&D-mode via flasher?
If both true, you can modify the sources for the package-manager...

Do you know the hardware specifications (CPU model etc)?

It works with a modified version of Maemo 2008
Maemo was never available for licensing to third parties. At best it contains code also used in Maemo (eg hildon libs), but it may also be something entirely different (perhaps not even Linux) that just looks a bit similar.

The only available OS2008 images are for the Nokia N800, N810 & N810WE[1]. Even if the EB60 is using the same SoC, it's extremely unlikely it will even boot with one of those.

[1] and the 770 if you count the "hacker edition"

found the following info;

http://szvigorhood.en.alibaba.com/pr...onic_Book.html

does claim to come with os2008 running on a ARM 11 (Samsung) S3C6410 667MHz/FBGA-424
if the specs are truthful it sounds interesting. would be cool to play with maemo on a device with a 7" screen

This is an E-Ink device? Running Maemo??

Wow. Previously I've only ever seen non-Nokia Maemo devices that just mocked the N800's form factor such as:
