Has anyone been able to get Flashblock or something similar (prevents browser from downloading flash objects until you click on a placeholder) on Maemo5's MicroB? There's one for OS2008's MicroB but I don't know if it works and figured I'd ask before trying. I'm guessing none of the plugins meant for Firefox would work. I tried to hack something together with this code:

http://www.squarefree.com/userstyles/xbl.html

And while it kept flash objects from loading, the placeholder wasn't displaying correctly (or not at all for some objects) and clicking on them didn't make them load.

Any ideas? I don't want or need any ad blocking, just flash blocking.

HA! I've done it! Updates in a few minutes...

Edit: great now my laptop and N900 suddenly aren't communicating via Bluetooth

Edit: NM, Bluetooth --> PDA name --> Browse files doesn't work, but Bluetooth --> Browse files on device --> Select device does

OK here are the files.

userContent.css goes in ~/.mozilla/microb/chrome/
clicktoview.xml goes in ~/.flashblock/

Close all browser windows then enjoy.
Attached Files
File Type: tar flashblock.tar (10.0 KB, 190 views)

Many thanks for that, GameboyRMH. Any chance of packaging it up and uploading it to the repos, for ease of installation and discoverability in the future?

Like the OP, I know about adflashblock-css, but I have had trouble with it blocking legitimate content on some sites so have had to uninstall it. But the flash blocking was useful, as it made browsing some sites quicker.

I'll see if I can get it done by the weekend, it would be my first time adding a package to the repos...
