Just to make sure. For the 001 variant of N9, I should flash

Code:
DFL61_HARMATTAN_40.2012.21-3_PR_LEGACY_001-OEM1-958
DFL61_HARMATTAN_40.2012.13-7.NOMAPS_EMMC_NOMAPS
There is also:
Code:
DFL61_HARMATTAN_40.2012.21-3.480.04.1_PR_LEGACY_480
what's that?

Please update the OP with the recent mirrors, the ones provided are offline. Can I get the correct md5sums from anywhere?

Yes!
For the eMMC it does not really matter which one you use.

There is also:
Code:
DFL61_HARMATTAN_40.2012.21-3.480.04.1_PR_LEGACY_480

That is the Switzerland Country Variant (the highest PR variant released, do only flash if there is no other available. Or you have a device with firmware already. Like me )

If you trust me (and the version of DFL61_HARMATTAN_40.2012.21-3_PR_LEGACY_003-OEM1-958_ARM.bin that I have downloaded years ago on my phone) then

~ $ md5sum DFL61_HARMATTAN_40.2012.21-3_PR_LEGACY_003-OEM1-958_ARM.bin

The eMMC checksums I have not at hand ...

I have some firmwares with md5sums on my site
Though, I'm not sure, if md5 for variants 299, 341 and 480 are correct. If anybody can confirm that they are ok, please do it.

Hi.
I couldn't recall any posts regarding this so here I go.

I found that by scanning the BIDI code in the "About Product" option in the Settings menu you can obtain the IMEI number (it is already there) and the hardware version of the device, which can be useful in order to find an appropriate image to flash in the device, or if you have just lost the top covers of the device.

Regards.

I wonder what's a difference between "001 - Europe (1)" and "009 - Europe (2)" versions of FW? I guess Europe is divided, but I couldn't find how :-)

Hi everyone!

So, I opened a Christmas gift early from my spouse yesterday (heh), and to awe, I received a Nokla N9.

I want you to imagine a grown man literally running around the house, ecstatic that he finally, finally got his hands on one of Nokia's greatest Finnish devices.

So, obviously the Ovi Store is gone, and I start working my way around the phone. I learn that it can install Debian packages. Sweet! So, first thing I did, right out of the box, was install FasterN9. Well....

The package installed, and the phone rebooted. And rebooted again. And again. Now, my screen will only display the Nokia loading screen, then "Device not working properly. Try updating the device software with Nokia Software updater. If the problem persists, contact the nearest Nokia Care point.
Software problem (ohmd) too many reboots."

Needless to say, I feel like I've made a terrible, reckless error and I sincerely hope that one of you fine folks can help to unbrick me.

I've searched the forums as well as I could, but I may have missed somewthing (Please link me if I did!) but I had the craziest time just downloading the flasher tool! I've attempted to use the flasher tool with no success, when I run an elevated cmd prompt with flasher -i, all I receive is "Device is in Sync and connect mode, sending ADL reboot.
ERROR: ReadFile(65540) GetOverlappedResult() error 2 timeout 4975 ms
Unable to detect flashing interface: standing by for device reboot."

I don't know for sure that I have the right firmware downloaded. How can I tell which shipped with my device? I do remember that there was a one-word carrier name, and another word after that, on my lockscreen... before I broke everything. The model underneath my usb port cover says Model: N9 357923040124051, but Google finds nothing of that infromation. It is the black 16gb model, and I am 99.9% sure that I had the UK/Ireland version. On my SIM tray, I see 059L3N7 - 16GB

Sometimes an ominous orange light comes on the phone's back flash. I don't really know how else to describe what it looks like.

If anybody, ANYBODY has any advice, or links, or even RTFM's for me, please let me know. I only had a chance to hold this lovely phone for one day before breaking it...

Also, I currently have downloaded NaviFirmPlus_3.2 for Windows, and the file that I am assuming needs flashed is downloaded to my HD as E7FEB593_DFL61_HARMATTAN_40.2012.13-7.UKIRELAND_EMMC_UKIRELAND.bin. I also have Flasher.exe.

I'm also installing Debian on my Raspberry Pi B+ in the hopes that it will have better luck with reviving my device. =/

Thank you for reading my ramble, and please please please let me know if you have any ideas. This is pretty terrible.

EDIT::: So, turns out I was simply attempting to install the incorrect firmware. Now everything is working fine Aside from getting rid of all this ovi-required stuff.... but I'll take what accomplishments I can get!
