You can tell when it is switched to opera. opera also shows it's default plugin . where in microb there will only be one plugin showing and thats flash.

As for the pages that i got this info on it was the more me toying with it to get it to work. Here is the 1st thing i did .

I Closed the browser windows

sudo gainroot
wget http://nmacleod.com/nokia/n800/microb_flash-4.2007.tar.gz
tar xvzf microb_flash-4.2007.tar.gz -C /To uninstall (and revert to Flash 7):

Then when that faild to show up in plugins i started doing some searching and found this info that i saved in notepad
libplayback-1.so.0.0.4 in /usr/lib
and
libflashplayer.so in /usr/lib/browser/plugins replacing the existing Flash 6 libflashplayer.so.

cd /user/lib
ln -s libplayback-1.so.0.0.4 libplayback-1.so.0

ln -s /usr/lib/browser/plugins/libflashplayer.so /home/user/.mozilla/plugins/libflashplayer.so

That is all the info i have . i also have a link to the oen flash 6 plugin for anyone who did not backup . befor testing . http://www.resolvent.com/N770/
This in the info i used i saved mst of everything . I hope this helps . I wish i can somehow pull my config/setup and send it to one of you guys.

I hope this helps

Alright, when I get to " tar xvzf microb_flash-4.2007.tar.gz -C / " xterm says no such file or directory. It looks like it worked up until this point.

tar xvzf microb_flash-4.2007.tar.gz -C /

rm /usr/lib/browser/plugins/libflashplayer.so

Please retest it this way and let me know.

I am very sorry for the mix up but it is working great on my end.

I am sorry, but I am still confused about this revised procedure (and I really do appreciate you doing this).

You have these three lines in the above:

tar xvzf microb_flash-4.2007.tar.gz -C /
rm /usr/lib/browser/plugins/libflashplayer.so
tar xvzf microb_flash-4.2007.tar.gz -C /

Why the rm command and then why repeat the same tar command?

TIA.

OK, just to be clear, I take it that the procedure should be:

sudo gainroot
wget http://nmacleod.com/nokia/n800/micro...-4.2007.tar.gz

rm /usr/lib/browser/plugins/libflashplayer.so

tar xvzf microb_flash-4.2007.tar.gz -C /

cd /usr/lib

ln -s libplayback-1.so.0.0.4 libplayback-1.so.0

ln -s /usr/lib/browser/plugins/libflashplayer.so /home/user/.mozilla/plugins/libflashplayer.so

tar xvzf microb_flash-4.2007.tar.gz -C / (Again! Why????)

My 770 won't run a browser at all right now :-( and I am too tired to mess with it any more tonight. Maybe I will re-flash it tomorrow and start over again.

Flash 9 now works on my 770 with os2006. I wasn't able to do the last "
tar xvzf microb_flash-4.2007.tar.gz -C / " But Flash seemed to be installed. I went to the adobe flash test site and all is well. In case anybody would like to know I also have microb installed too.

I think microb is significant. I don't have microb installed and my Opera Shockwave Flash plug-in disappeared after manually installing the files from the archive and creating the symlinks.

I restored the Flash 6 plug-in by reversing the procedure.

Thanks for your efforts.

Has anybody else followed this procedure with success?

To those that were unsuccessful, were you able to undo the changes and revert back to Flash6?

BTW, the latest instructions appear to have several redundant tar commands.

Tapping on about stated that I was running flash 9.0.31.17. (Using default opera browser)

However, I'm getting A LOT of crashes/white screen of death when I try to initiate the wireless connection. I could only successfully browse after shutting down the 770 and restarting (not when it automatically restarts from a crash).

I went to youtube and was able to get a player screen and see the little bar moving forward, but no actual video or sound. The browser (and sometimes whole device) would crash shortly after this.

I have not installed OS2007 on my 770 at all and I'm not sure what microb is, although I do have minimo installed. Haven't tried using minimo yet for a flash test or youtube.
