I hit this problem, but managed to fix it....

After lots of trial and error I tried experimenting with the keyboard settings and disabled auto-complete. The crashes stopped.

I then started up "Auto completion editor" (in extras-devel). This told me my auto completion directory was corrupt (truncated). I clicked save to store an empty auto-complete dictionary

The crashes have stopped :-)

Hope this helps

Oh yeah, I found the answer too, but put the fix on a different thread.

The auto complete dictionaries are in ~/.osso/dictionaries

An alternative to AutoComplete config editor, if you don't have it installed, is to delete the files in this folder.

In my case, AutoComplete editor crashed when I had issues with auto complete so this was the only solution for me.

It turned out the cause of the truncation was a full home directory... now cleaned up -- this had caused a few other things to break.. sigh.

To solve this I disabled WORD COMPLETION and USE VIRTUAL KEYBOARD in

SETTINGS--->TEXT INPUT
