Hello, I have a problem. I just bought a new N900 and it does not seem to be charging the battery properly. The battery was fully discharged and when I plug in the adapter it just won't start charging any more.

Sorry to hear that.

Few questions:
  • Are you using the wall charger? Charging through from PC via USB cable can be slow because of the limits.
  • On the other hand, if you are using the wall charger, have you tried the PC cable?
  • Is the orange light coming on at all?
  • Have you tried removing and replacing the battery?
  • Unplugging and replugging few times?

Here is a thread with similar problems that might be of help.

If I discharge my device completely, so that it turns itself off, and then connect the wall charger my device doesn't start blinking immediately. If I let it connected to the charger for some time and then try to boot it, it does work again. So it is charging even if it is not blinking.

So my recommendation would be: connect it to the wall charger for 15 minutes and then disconnect it, boot it and then connect it to the charger again... If it doesn't help - I don't know.

Btw. this is the reason why I never discharge it completely (only close to). And therefor I never turn it off .
