Read the threads above, enabling bdemu changes /dev_xxxx to /dev_bdvd, so you can play games with backup manager.

Code:
psfreedom (0.3-3) unstable; urgency=low

  * Added ComboBox to select payloads.

psfreedom (0.3-2) unstable; urgency=low

  * Using new version of PSFreedom, based on PSGroove 1.1 (supports for poke and peek lv1 syscalls)
  * Added new payloads and shellcodes for above change.

psfreedom (0.3-1) unstable; urgency=low

  * Package now in free with stable debian/rules file.

psfreedom (0.3) unstable; urgency=low

  * Added BDemu support.
  * Added fixes for PSFreedom.

psfreedom (0.2-2) unstable; urgency=low

  * Removed import gobject from code, not needed.

psfreedom (0.2-1) unstable; urgency=low

  * Fixed permissions

psfreedom (0.2) unstable; urgency=low

  * UI Revamped, thanks Bash!

psfreedom (0.1) unstable; urgency=low

  * Initial release.
0.3 had another button to enable/disable BDEmu.
kernel-power-source was commented out by titan, so building the modules against the kernel was harder than with the stock kernel, what worked a week ago didn't work now (without any changes), so I had to use non-free for 0.3. I made a kernel-power-source package so...
0.3-1 uses that package, so back to free.
0.3-2 was an update to the modules, so it has code similar to PSGroove 1.1 with p&p syscalls, but there wasn't anything new to the UI (i.e there was no way to use new features).
0.3-3 dropped the button and added a combobox.

MohammadAG: Does the new version work with newest PS3 firmware? Do I still need to edit .so files to make it run backups?

In fact, please DO NOT replace the .ko files, it might break payloads and will break the app itself, I'll add an option to make stuff permanent in the coming days.

I have started looking at C++/Qt, and might do a complete rewrite of the whole app in C++/Qt, this will reduce space needed by dependencies, reduce startup time, and CPU and mem usage

Dude, you are awesome!
What do you mean by making stuff permanent though?

At the moment you have to select BD emulation everytime you turn on jailbreak mode, a settings dialog which saves this preference (defaults) would be nice.

Don't really know the answer, this isn't maemo specific and I haven't followed all PS3 stuff, you're welcome to ask on #ps3hax on irc.ps3sanctuary.com, you might get an answer there.
