Thanks! I'll give it a go tonight. I'm a complete Linux noob, but I think I can figure this one out.
Been using ubuntu and android so far. Ubuntu missed the tablet funtionality and Android missed things like flash.

Ok, I guess I do have a question. Do you run the tablet image in virtualbox or standalone? I am looking for a way to also be able to update and install apps, so therefore I was thinking of virtualbox. I just lack the experience to know the right way to take, and haven't found anything that's clear enough for me on the web (except virtualbox wiki)

Edit: Installed standalone snapshot version (from 19th july). Looks even better and lock screen and app screen are in landscape.
Remapping of home key works, thanks! I just haven't been able how to make this start each boot. From your description I take it I have to edit rc.local, but how do I get an editor like leafpad on the tablet?

for editing rc.local use nano

as for virtualbox i dont advise it because touch events dont go through the host machine transparently but they are translated to mouse movement so no multitouch amongst others. I tried it with android and positioning wasn't absolute. Touchscreen behaved like a giant touchpad (corner isn't always corner)

Maybe try unetbootin and an sd card. It is fast maybe faster than installing it on the hdd
