Looks like N-Series will be moving to MeeGo after the N8. I hope my N900 survives until the N9 is released (I need to avoid amusement park rides)!

How does this equate to N8 being abandoned? Nokia will still be fully supporting Symbian, albeit for dumbphones (i.e. C, E, and X series).

i definitely would call e72 or new eseries devices dumbphones, but yes nokia is going to differentiate by having some devices be more mobile computer oriented and some be more phone oriented


edit:yes of course i meant would NOT call e72 a dumbphone

wtf are you talking about, symbian is a smartphone os. as long as you can run 3rd party apps, smartphone.

If you define abandoning as the old guard practice of not providing the major os updates to devices that we have become accustomed to with Google and Apple, there is no official word on that. However Nokia has never done this and is not showing any signs that they are about to start.
