I can't do any progress more unless the system core is updated. For example timed would need libc6 >=2.10, many games need newer libx11, building tracker modules needs major glib update and a couple of libs, et cetera.

Would it be possible to use Bitpurse with meecolay or make it compatible?

http://khertan.net/projects/bitpurse

I will donate if you can accept bitcoin..don't have paypal nor creditcard.
Takes a few minutes to make an account at blockchain.info if you are willing.

Would an updated glib break existing applications on Fremantle?

Guess, not really: http://talk.maemo.org/archive/index.php/t-85494.html

In fact libc6 is known to break anything (Calendar). But there's no use in upgrading individual libs. It'd be better to rebase the whole system.

/edit: well, some newer glib breaks stock Calendar too. But stock Calendar is really buggy (anything can break it). Good to have Qalendar

Btw. it wasn't announce clearly before, but seanmcken's pm remembered me about it. Password-protecting the private repo is now useless - all the packages from it were already uploaded for public access in their own threads and/or uploaded to the main repo.

I think about discontinuing the private repo altogether. Is there any reason to keep it?
