Hello @ the dear community of the awesome people (AKA N900 owners). I need a little assistance.
Well, somehow my beloved N900 decided yesterday to stop supporting facebook IM service. It's quite weird.
I still see my account on the "My availability" list, but without the small facebook icon. I can't click on it. If I try to create a new account, I see no facebook under the "Select service" list.
I've already reinstalled all of the related packages I could think of, such as FB Widget, Extra protocols for contacts, Pidgin protocols (both 0.08 and 0.10), etc. No change.
The facebook widget is still working.

What am I missing here?

Thanks.

Well, I actually managed to fix that by reinstalling that plugin.
Some digging was required (I'm not a linux user), but it was easy.
The solution is doing so in xterm:
Code:
apt-get install rtcom-accounts-plugin-facebook
a small reboot, and Viola!
I still have no idea on how I even managed to remove that plugin

Hi and welcome to the forum. I didn't see your thread yesterday. Most problems are easily solvable using a search.

I am glad that you decided to 'dig' for a solution rather than wait for one. That attitude will help you a lot with the N900. Personally I have fun messing up the device and messing with xterm to fix it.

I had this same problem, and your solution worked perfectly!

Many thanks.
