Installed Wireshark via the app manager. Created an icon for it on my home screen. Rebooted, and now the icon is gone. Unable to add a new one as I guess it's already in use - though I can't see it anywhere on my home screen.
Tried to uninstall / reinstall WS, but same thing again. Always disappears after reboot.
Edit : found solution to the problem
Disappearing desktop icons on N900
reason:when you will ls -l /usr/share/application/hildon/
you will find symbolic links for transmission and wireshark , delete them
-cd /opt/maemo/usr/share/applications/hildon
-cp wireshark.desktop /usr/share/applications/hildon
-cp transmission.desktop /usr/share/applications/hildon
