There is absolutely no way that it's going to be ready for October. I also doubt it's ever going to run smoothly on the n900's hardware. More likely they'll be focusing on the next gen ARM and Intel hardware as the baseline.

In its actual state Meego has still a long way to run before it's complete.
October sounds very optimistic for a release date, to me too.
With the "time-to-market" pressure, I really hope Nokia won't release a half-finished software for its computer-phone, otherwise it will end-up in another new toy for open-source enthusiasts only...
