1st Tip:

use leafpad and make changes to these 2 lines:
ITEM_NAME="NITdroid on MMCp2 - 2.6.28.NIT.06"
ITEM_KERNEL=2.6.28.NIT.06

(it might work if you change "5" to "6")

2nd Tip:

remember to have a microsd card in the N900 while u boot

3rd Tip:

remember to have the hw keyboard slided out when u "power on" your N900

2) Is the phone working (calls, sms, mms).
3) Is possible to send and receive mails?
4) Is it possible to have flash 10.1?
1.) with this guide - it will NOT replace Maemo.
this guide is a dual boot solution.

still - it should be possible to replace Maemo if ure enough skillful

2. not in this version. but the next version (0.9) should have those features enabled.

3. yes! with Wifi! (3G/2G doesnt work yet)

4. yes! Flash 10.1 works in Nitdroid! ...but it must be manually downloaded in Nitdroid.
Its very easy - and its explained / described on the Nitdroid forum.

FIXED

OK so since I did not find a solution for my problem in this thread I assume author did not mention it anywhere. I have looked around and noticed this :

http://wiki.maemo.org/Kernel_Power#I...d_installation

sudo gainroot
apt-get install kernel-power-bootimg
apt-get install --reinstall multiboot-kernel-power

This has added the option for power kernel in the multiboot

Ok I seem to be having a similar problem. Before the dual boot I was running then latest power kernel with several overclocked profiles.

The installation of NITdroid was successful, everything loads but when I boot into maemo (either by not opening the keyboard or by pressing the option in the loader) i seem to be loading a stock kernel.
When i run kernel-config show in the terminal i get:

Code:
This kernel version 2.6.28-omap1 is not supported
Please make sure that kernel-power is installed and running.
If you have just installed the kernel, you need to shutdown and boot to activate it.
To reinstall the power user kernel run:
'apt-get install --reinstall kernel-power kernel-power-flasher'
what is the solution?

Thank you.

is there anyway of doing this so that the android files dont flood over into the maemo side of things? everything works perfect however. How would I go about setting the directory to copy over to the emmc in lets say an android folder in My Docs?

EDIT*** Just want to say Thanks to Ammyt for all the work you have put into this thread - compiling the guide in the first place, creating the Wiki, maintaining it, responding etc etc. It's got to be disheartening when people refuse to search for the answers you have already given and for alternative workarounds to various problems. I think people have simply become lazy and can't even be arsed to read posts properly or search for answers themselves. So, to you Ammyt, thanks for all the hard work man, you inspired me to install Droid without an SD using manual install and now it's running sweet as a nut on my phone.

Guru Meditation:

Code:
Code:
Root filesystem mmcblk0p5 NOT available!
Guru Meditation #000000025.62017712
Hit any key to panic!

Potential fixes:

Code:
root
leafpad /etc/multiboot.d/11*
Edit it to read the following. There are two options for "ITEM_DEVICE" listed but if you are running off an SD card it can't be mmcblk0 - it HAS to be mmcblk1 and then try both the partitions, start with p2 and then try p5.

ITEM_NAME="NITdroid on MMCp2 - 2.6.28.NIT.06"
ITEM_KERNEL=2.6.28.NIT.06
ITEM_MODULES=ext3
ITEM_DEVICE=mmcblk0p2 or mmcblk0p5
ITEM_FSTYPE=ext3
ITEM_FSOPTIONS=rw,noatime,errors=remount-ro,commit=3
EOF

If you didn't find maemo in multiboot:
Type 0 to boot stock kernel. Remember to have your keyboard slid out to boot into multiboot or it will attempt to load the previously loaded kernel by default, which is no longer installed.

If you are running off an enhanced Kernel (Titan s Kernel v46) for overclocking you have to do additional tweaks to get the option to boot back into that kernel at multiboot. Post back if you need further help.

Yeah, I'm running an enhanced kernel, and I tried installing it on the microsd- worked fine

then, I tried installing it on the internal memory and in multiboot it gives me 3 options:

1. the stock kernel (which loads fine)
2. the enhanced kernel (which doesn't load, tells me the guru error, along with "required files not found")
3. The nitdroid (which loads)

Pleaseee help! I want to be able to load in the enhanced kernel

I tried doing the fix from the wiki, which was
apt-get install kernel-power-bootimg
apt-get install --reinstall multiboot-kernel-power

Someone help!
