Just found a link to an article. If this is correct, then Elop has been forced to back down and reverse some of his decisions.

No, it's not true, it's just poor journalism. Fry is just bringing in the N9 on their own as end-of-line closing sales, nothing to do with Nokia.

I, nonetheless, liked the following excerpt from that article:
"The Nokia N9′s MeeGo-compatible operating system has three things that no operating system on phones today offer. First, it’s a real-time operating system. Second, it has no antitrust-grade restrictions on developer innovations… there are no walled gardens. And third, it’s unlocked to run on any compatible carrier.
