So, I found out about GarnetVM and set about trying to load a dictionary program and dictionary files to it. To my surprise, the emulator seems to be unable to access the host filesystem, which basically means that I can't load dictionaries.

The proposed solution I read about was creating a virtual SD, which, although good-sounding, frightens me a little, as I'm not sure what the commands do, and further, how to revert the changes (linux newbie, here).

The proposed command line I read about is:
mkdir ~/.gvm/cards
echo -e "/media/mmc1\nRW" > ~/.gvm/cards/0

mkdir sounds easy enough to figure out, the one that's giving me trouble is the echo line; not only I haven't figured what it does, but I'm not sure how to revert the chances it'll do.

So, is this the easiest way to add and remove files to GVM? And is this a good way to get it working? And how do I reverse it? It doesn't sood good to be stuck with a virtual SD throughout life.
