Just arrived in Israel - was assuming I could use Nokia Maps on my N9 here, but when I tried to download, there is no Israel to be found.

And on the WiFi network, it doesn't download any detail for where it correctly shows I am... just major routes, no city streets.

Fail Nokia

The only two usable map services are Google Maps and Waze, there's an unofficial port of the latter for Harmattan. Both services require an Internet connection.

Thanks for the info. I plan on going to Jerusalem in a couple of months. I have an N9 so is Waze still the only option for GPS then? Also which rental car service you guys recommend. I saw Sixt has great deals but their reputation isn't the best?

Quick reply...
I use Modrana on N900. It's also available on N9, but provides less features. Nevertheless, this application stores maps offline, and might be capable of offline routing.

Hi,
Where did you find the option to download the Israel maps? I don't see any option in Drive or Maps...

Thanks!

PS. All map (streets) written in English, but its not a problem, to find the address (street), you can use Hebrew.
This map not so competed, its not know some places (names), but it can see the place it self. After waze, search also not so good if you want find specific place, not address or maybe i don't know use it right. Navigation is good, also in offline mode.
