Should OpenRepos sent update notifications on Sailfish as well?

I am not receiving any, eventhough I have enabled repositories, imported key and I am able to install applications directly with pckon install "package name in OpenRepos"

Should I be receiving update notifications?

When applications get update, it is visible within repository metadata.
I dont have real jphone, but on flashed n9 all updates are visible with console operations (pkcon get-updates, pkcon update)
Maybe, because of sailfishos beta state, there is no application update center yet, or something like that.

Anyway, notifications for available updates for openrepos applications will be generated by warehouse as well.

Thanks for the answer

I also noticed that updates are there with pkcon-update and can be updated directly from the console.

I just expected that we would have received some notification about an available update like we do with N9. But I guess this doesn't yet work with Sailfish OS so.

Looking forward to Sailfish OS own version on warehouse.

Great work with Open Repos so far and so nice to see apps starting to pop up there

Another n00b problem for me. When I am trying to install some applications (these are Helium and Pushup from appsformeego repository) from OpenRepos with Warehouse to my N9 I get the following error:

E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (255)

And the apps don't install. For Helium I tried also the rzr repository in OpenRepos but no luck there either.

what warehouse version do you use?
After enabling repository, what happens when you do 'apt-get install helium' from root terminal?

Warehouse is version 0.1.6 so should be current.

From command line I get an error that Aegis is preventing the install...

...which must mean that (after I had to flash my N9 a couple of days ago) I must have forgotten to allow application installs from other sources than Store...

...and this is indeed the case (strangely I could install for example Jaffa's Attitude app without any problems)...

...yet, after allowing the installations from untrusted sources I still get the same error in Warehouse...

...and after rebooting the N9 problem still persists in Warehouse. In terminal I get the same error (Aegis rejecting the install because package origin cannot be determined and signature check is failed).

please provide console log from apt-get installation.
try execute apt-get update and then retry the installation.
do you have any tweaks enabled? aegis hacks or interception?

openrepos is added as trusted source of apps, only warehouse itself requires to be installed with 'untrusted app sources' switch enabled.

No tweaks here, or aegis hacks. No inception either. Don't know if Meecatog or apps.formeego can be counted as a hack, I might have some old inactive repos installed from those. Can these cause a problem?

At least
apt-get update

gives errors for
repo.apps.formeego.com
repo.pub.meego.com

I suppose these are not used anymore and I should remove those.

After apt-get update

apt-get install helium gives

Code:
~ # apt-get install helium
Luetaan pakettiluetteloita... Valmis
Muodostetaan riippuvuussuhteiden puu
Luetaan tilatiedot... Valmis
Seuraavat UUDET paketit asennetaan:

Toiminnon jälkeen käytetään 545k t lisää levytilaa.
VAROITUS: Seuraavian pakettien alkuperää ei voi varmistaa!
helium
Asennetaanko nämä paketit ilman todennusta [y/N]? y
Aegis rejecting /var/cache/apt/archives/helium_0.6.0_armel.deb: package 'helium' origin cannot be determined -- signature check failed
aegis aborting dpkg -- all listed package files rejected
Compilation failed in require.
Updating desktop entries... Done
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (255)

non-working repositories should not cause any problems, but if same package appers in multiple repos signed with different keys, it could.
meecatalog/appsformeego also should be fine.
but package is grabbed from cache, and not downloaded, try apt-get clean before install.
also you can try remove those 2 repos, since they are obsolete now. and try again

OK, got pushup and Helium to install. apt-get clean was not enough, I had to remove the old apps.formeego.org repo to get them to install. Warehouse kept having the 255 error and when installing from the commandline the N9 tried to get the package from apps.formeego.org and then the install failed.

Big thanks for your help, it is apreciated.
