Thanks Alan but my headset uses a2dp (i think every stereo headset should) but when i have it under my jacket and the phone is in my trousers pocket i get strange noises and a not so nice quality.

i don't want to use the bt headset anyway i just want a working remote so that i don't have to take the n900 out of my pocket all the time just to skip the track
