I may seem intractable and stubborn on the topics..

with so much speculation, conjecture and contradiction here.
with so much silence, uncertainty, and lapsed time since official updates.
I want clarity
There is no personal affront made to you Kabouik , I have responded no different than I have with anyone else...
So do not be offended ...
it is not personal...
I simply wish some pertinent questions that are unanswered....answered...officially...
and those that have been answered officially .....are severely dated.....the latest of which was last March...is almost 6 months old...

And speaking of unanswered questions...
pertaining to the funding of this project ...
it would be good to see the legality of the fine print where I signed and agreed to the fact that the neo org could take what was a refundable down payment and turn it into a non refundable donation ...(which is a low thing to do.)..
since I don't recall having been given any such document to sign...
in the first place.

Four to five months really is not much considering the frequency at which news were posted over the years, or even compared to the total time since the project started. Joerg has been leader from the beginning and he was still leading in March, so while there are concerns about the project overall, I would not worry too much about leadership changes unless specifically announced (but this opinion is just my own).

About the refundable (or not) down payments, actually we agree with this statement when purchasing on the shop: https://my.neo900.org/index.php?id_c...content_only=1

3) the products the project aims to provide are still under development and changes to project duration, final cost, and outcome of the development process are possible,
4) therefore, payments made by customers are contributions towards a shared goal, without guarantees on the outcome,
[...]
6) in case of total or partial failure, the project may not be able to refund payments in their entirety, or at all,
[...]
10) final products will be built to order after final payment,
11) these terms and conditions are a binding agreement between you the customer and Neo900 UG (haftungsbeschraenkt), and by accepting them you confirm that you understand the limitations and risks resulting from the nature of this project,
12) all claims arising out of or relating to these terms and conditions will be governed by German law, will be litigated exclusively in the courts of Nuremberg, Bavaria, Germany, and you and Neo900 UG (haftungsbeschraenkt) consent to jurisdiction in those courts.
Now, I'm not sure this was already there for those who purchased before the Neo900 UG company was created to take over after the mess with GoldenDelicious (I'm calling it a mess only because I don't remember the exact details and the confusion it created, I'm not judging), as it was a different shop at the time if I remember correctly. But maybe with the same terms.

That is true and It could be that the position to make the offical statements is at the moment not filled. So anybody who is interested is welcome to apply for it.

First it was Dos then it was hellekin, then it was sn0wmonster and now it could be you.

The money from Golden Delicious got transfered and there was the possibility for a refund and the last chance to get the money back.

well...
that is interesting...
wonder when the fine print showed up...
if it was always there...well..
what a great kindness to give us not to have to worry about signing anything.

that bit of fine print does explain a great deal.

still...
it doesn't mean they can do as they please and not show the books and exactly what..if any of the remaining downpaym- ...er..."donation" is left...... to all us sucke- ...er...."patrons"...

This is something I really disagree with. Is it too much to ask for at least a monthly update on the progress? I few paragraphs? Is that unreasonable? I guess I should stop posting messages about the neo900, because my interest in getting one has dropped to near zero, but I'd have to say that one of the most frustrating aspects of this project has been the radio-silence of the project leader.

Yes, I understand that in any large organization like neo900.org, there are proper procedures that must be followed before any information can be released to the public. Any such message must be cleared by the legal team, and perhaps an outside team of lawyers. The HR department needs to be consulted. The announcement should be translated into all official EU languages, as well as Hindi, Japanese and Mandarin. A sign language video must be produced. A large enough venue for the press conference must be booked, and the media alerted. Releasing status information is a very big job, and clearly an official spokesman, with an adequate staff, is needed.

Actually I believe we agree on that, I posted before in this thread to say so, but acknowledged that Neo900 UG significantly improved on that when they had someone in charge of that task, unfortunately the communication guy(s) never stayed long as Halftux mentioned. Here, I was just saying that the delay since March is not particularly unusual, your message shows it too that the typical delay between news was always several months, therefore there is no reason to think that something happened to the leadership just based on that. We will surely be updated in time if that ever happens for whatever reasons.

some pretty recent info:

Team is too small for such a complex project.

Yes, not a lot of actual results that can be shown as far as I can tell but at least someone is working on stuff, making an overview and planning that can be updated and checked.

Not sure what the role is of Houkime. He/She is pretty active on IRC and managing the planning updates. It would surprise me if they manage to produce a product any time soon though. Seen the Pyra development and it took several revisions of the mainboard/pcb after the first was created in 2014. Only a few weeks ago it was completed. So it took them more than 4 years and Neo900 development seems to be a lot slower.
