Hello,

I already know that Nokia has already shutdown most, if not all, N9 related services. However, when I booted up my N9 for the first time in a few years today I was greeted with an error message when trying to enable to developer mode. When the phone tried to download the developer mode package I got the following error:

"Can't complete the download. Connection to the application provider was lost."

Thus, I'm not sure how enable developer mode. Beyond that, I'm wondering to manually install apps if I can't browse anything with a file manager or access the terminal. I've already enabled "Install apps from third-party sources" or whatever it's called.

Furthermore, since I can't seem to sync my Google Contacts with my N9 I tried exporting all of them to a .vcf file and putting that on my phone but the Contacts app doesn't give an option for importing contacting from a file. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Oh, and once more:
https://openrepos.net/content/ancelad/n9-repomirror

Enable third-party installations, download and tap in transfer window or file manager to install.
Possibly reboot then.

BTW during creating this thread there should have popped up links to similar threads describing in detail your problem. Or search yourself via

Thanks for the response, I found this info. after posting my original thread. Sorry. ^_^ By the way, I installed N9 RepoMirror but I'm still not able to activate developer mode. I installed after doing a factory reset. Is there something I'm missing?

yes, as Peter said. Search is your friend BTW using google with maemo.org added will give better results than the forum search engine. Anyway, the problems you have been extensively discussed and you can find answers to them.

Welcome to the the forums BTW. N9 can still rock hard with all the info you can find from here.

What firmware you are on?

Ancelad's package is meant only for general 001 fw. But there should come an update in near future (hopefully ).

Did you reboot?

I'm on PR 1.3, so I assume the app is incompatible then lol? I'm assuming that PR 1.3 is the firmware version of course. And I did reboot with no luck, ah well. At this point I'm just enjoying my unicorn phone haha.

The 001 peterleinchen was on about refers to the regional variant.

Much obliged, my friend. I'm located in the USA by the way, if that helps at all.

On a side note, I just remembered how awesome and supportive this community is. It's been years since I've been here but I've decided to use my N9 as my daily driver again because why not?
