hello

yesterday opened the picture viewer and noticed that the only images in there are the ones ive taken with panorama. Even the stock images have gone! Then i looked in media player and all my videos and music have gone!!! looked in file manager and the all media folders are empty!! opened fcam to see if there are images in there and they have gone too! whats going on? was workin friday!

please help

Go to File Manager and check if your files are still in the original location. It could be the picture viewer just didn't pick up your files stored on different location (or if you moved them recently). If you have a new SD, the picture viewer/media player will not include the files stored. "Move" them onto the N900 and back to the SD to get it recognized.

Edit: Good idea to backup with Ovi Suite.

quite a common problem this..
open x terminal and type tracker-processes -r (enter)
open media player and wait a while for it to update...

Hello

No files in any of the media folders, i dont use an sd card, just use the n900 harddrive

anything else i could do? ive run testdisk but not sure im doing right.

i stored them all on the n900 hard drive. my rss feeds have been getting deleted since installing pr1.3 im not sure if this is anything to do with it...oh and my sms's are behaiving strangly.they are sending but fone thinks they are not,then i cant view text that are being sent to me. i think it all may b connected. not sure

It was mainly to see if all of your partitions are mounted right.
Do you remember how much you had stored on the device? More like rounding for 0.5 GB than the actual size. Please compare with the output of
Code:
df
which gives you the numbers for occupied space, free space and total space available.
Did you experiment with resizing your emmc or meego or nitdroid lately, or at all?

must have had about 1gb of stuff.

ok now my book marks have all gone!! i was jus using them an hour ago! have i got a virus or something?

i dont know what emmc is so no. not installed meego or nitdroid.
