True, yeah, but technicality really.
It is a really rare beast indeed who manages to collect karma from just wiki & blogs. I almost tend to say there's nobody like that
But I agree, in general it will be quite hard to collect enough karma to vote (or even get voted
) without linking the accounts.

What happens to you if you do not vote? Just harassing or will you have to do jail time?

I have to admit that even as I lived for three years in WA back when I was under the age limit to vote yet, I do not ever remember hearing about that kind of procedure... Maybe it is a newer thing, that was back in the early eighties?

In finland we have a system where if large enough group of people sign an online petition that some law has to be created/deleted/modified, then the parliament has to process it through the normal law-making procedures. It does not guarantee that it gets passed, there have been both proposals that have been accepted and rejected, but at least processing it is mandatory.

Edit, wikipedia is wrong: Voting is also compulsory in most local government elections.

Because they wont win, and because of the preferential voting system, the vote goes to another party.
Jefferson said about democracy: the tyranny of the majority over the minority (i.e., 51% enslaving the other 49%).
