Reminds me of a software development firm I visited recently.

The difference being that they had not just a roadmap
but also a summary on the wall:
* of what was currently being coded, (and who was tasked)
* what was ticked off as finalized for the next release,
* what was being siderailed due to issues,
* and what the next release date looked like in view of current code.

Simply having a blurrrrry roadmap indicates
a desire to sell something with no real substance behind the plan,
something like the Turing phone comes to mind.

What KDE are doing with Plasma Mobile appears excellent,

see where they are going here:
https://phabricator.kde.org/project/profile/247/

This PM 1.0 appears to be a real effort.

Still looking for potential trouble ? Here is some

http://www.reuters.com/article/us-qu...-idUSKBN1D324K

In short : iMx is a range of Freescale, bought by NXP, which is itself now pending acquisition by Qualcomm, which could be taken by broadcom...

Not easy to follow silicium manufacturers lately...

Totally nauseated my whole what-was-gonna-be beautiful weekend:

“It’s a smart move that would make Broadcom into a tech juggernaut,”
Broadcom wifi chips technology inspires comparison to
Sisyphus trying to pilot a coal-fired submarine.

Truly the eternal extermination of hope.

as in:

Trying to get acceptable performance
out of Broadcom wifi chips is a Sisyphean task.

New post:

This is nice!
Hopefully they keep informing progress this way.

Looks very promising.
Hopefully they meet with success on getting plasma mobile past the alpha stage and be end-user pliant.

It's just another Debian spin with custom artwork - looks nice, but nothing special from a technical POV.
I wouldn't even consider PureOS worth mentioning if it wasn't "developed" by a hardware manufacturer.

I was wondering. Where does purism get its dialer, messaging and email apps from? Are they based on software currently in Debian repositories, home grown or someplace else?
