Ha. Thanks Nicholes. My new spare N900 also has that problem, although I didn't look into it further because I don't need the camera.

I'll try cleaning the sensor then

Hi, i'm having the same issue, i tried cleaning the sensor, but i think sensor is damaged while cleaning. Can anyone confirm that it is damaged or not? i have attached a pic of it. A half white and half shiny black part. I have fear that i have scratched the black part so it became white. Not so sure. I tried "dmesg" command. but as mentioned in 1st post, last lines were not like below for me too.

cam_shutter (GPIO 110) is now open
cam_shutter (GPIO 110) is now closed

or some one can post their sensor's pic and confirm that it's not damaged?
