When I'm opening the web browser it keeps telling "Updating" and doesn't allow to open anything. Any suggestions?

Hopefully someone else will step in with better suggestions, but below are some actions that may help.
  • Launch "X Terminal" and enter "killall browserd" (without the quotes).
  • Reboot your tablet.
  • Uninstall any browser extensions (Adblock Plus, Flashblock, Greasemonkey, Spellcheck) you've installed.
  • Launch "X Terminal" and enter "rm -rf .mozilla" (without the quotes). Warning: This will clear all your browser settings, cookies, saved passwords, etc.

Hi there,

great and thanks a lot, I am having the exactly same problem. Rebooting or waiting does not help at all. I will try the other hints later this day and report.

UPDATE:
Unfortunately didn't help (none of the above). Anything else we can check, logs... ?

Thanks,
Corwin

I had the same problem.
I did the following and it woked again:

as root-->
apt-get remove --purge osso-browser microb-engine microb-eal
apt-get install osso-browser microb-engine microb-eal
it solved :-)

Tried the above and it seems to have gotten my issue resolved (wherein after firefox mobile install default web browser stopped working unless I opened firefox first)....however, now i no longer have 'conversations' or 'email' apps....anyone else experience this after doing the above?
