If Enlightenmnent runs this smooth in the chroot inside easy debian, imagine how it would fly if booted natively? Jeff from Bodhi Linux actually tried to get a native Debian system working on N900 like this: http://elektranox.org/n900/index.html , but not much luck yet.
Let me ask another uncommonly ignorant question though:
What about desktops other than Hildon (like, for instance, E) for Maemo? If Meego can be run with Hildon Desktop, why can't Maemo adopt other desktops?
