We need a Dalvik runtime, just to shut up the guys that say "M*e*o, not enough apps". I can't see how this helps. But it's nice to show there is nothing wrong with the N9 hardware.

I don't get why anyone wouldn't want Ics on there n9. Why wouldn't you want the options and the apps ? I Love my n9 as much as anybody on here but I would also like to look at Netflix ics will let me do that. We are doing it just for that apps that's it.

AFAIK, Netflix only runs on locked firmwares because of DRM. NITDroid will be unlocked by definition. What's wrong with a Dalvik runtime, then?

The higher goal is to have people purchase cheap and diverse Android HW, put Maemo on it, popularize it in a way MSFT/ NOK never will and have the repo's (not eco-sys) filled with even more "native" Maemo apps even more Android users want.
