hopefully Nokia wants to test these new versions and has them ready for the N9 launch, or shortly thereafter. That would mean testing on the closest platform, no? What better than the N900?

I think you lot are being overly pessimistic. I have little doubt that there will be a PR1.3 and possibly subsequent updates.

It's very important for Nokia to keep app developers and the mod community on board with S^3 just launching and Meego & S^4 just around the corner.

I'm sure this isn't lost on them.

Also, the N900 is still being manafactured (or so I am told). None of these factors point to a device which will be abandoned any time soon.

They don't cite a source so I'm cynical. Based on previous experience with Nokia, I still wouldn't believe it.

Just went to the Nokia US website today and the N900 is out of stock.
But European sites still have them.

Me wonders why...

Actually, the US store has been out of N900s for some time. Dell's stock has also been gone for 3 or 4 weeks, and they've been selling N900s for about a year.

I got mine used on Amazon =D! Only 330USD!

PR1.3 is out there, and it should be released soon. As far as I've gathered, we get flash 10.1, Qt, and minor bug fixes.
